Brian has lived in the Del Ray neighborhood of Alexandria with his wife Karla (also a Friends of ROAM board member) since 1998, the same year they had the first of their two children, Maya and Gabe. The family has been a part of the ROAM community for several years, and has greatly valued the music and experience. Gabe has been a student and teacher, and ROAM is where Brian’s band rehearses.
Brian and Karla met and married in Guatemala where they served as Peace Corps volunteers. Brian has spent most of his career at the US Department of Housing and Urban Development, where he currently helps manage the Housing Counseling grant program.
Brian has a Master’s Degree in public policy from the University of Maryland Baltimore County, and a Bachelor’s Degree in international relations from the University of Pennsylvania.
