About Karla

Karla is from Salt Lake City, UT. She studied law in San Francisco, CA and afterwards she spent 2 years in Guatemala as a U.S. Peace Corps volunteer. Her time in Central America inspired her to become an advocate for people immigrating to the U.S. She has been practicing immigration law since 1995.

Karla met her husband Brian Siebenlist in the Peace Corps. They are the proud parents of Maya and Gabriel. Both children were born here in Del Ray and went through the public-school system in Alexandria. Since graduating high school in 2016, Maya has been dancing with Alonzo King LINES Ballet, based in San Francisco, but currently touring the world.

Gabe graduated from Alexandria City High School in 2019 and graduates from Emory University in May 2023 with a double major in Arabic and North African Middle East studies.Gabe participated in ROAM from 6th grade through high school. ROAM nurtured his love of music and as a result, Gabe is a dedicated rock star, writing and performing original music. His band, Hanoi Ragmen has released two albums.

Living in Del Ray since 1997 Karla values the richness of diversity in the area. The need to bring this diversity to ROAM is the foundation for her desire to collaborate in the creation and promotion of Friends of ROAM.
