The purpose of the Friends of ROAM is to assist young musicians to
access high quality music education in order to develop their
musicianship and love of the art of music.

Michelle Bares Tober is a native of Lafayette, Louisiana. She grew
up in a large French-speaking Cajun family, in the land of gumbo

in Guatemala as a U.S. Peace Corps volunteer....
Brian has lived in the Del Ray neighborhood of Alexandria with his

called Del Ray home for the past 21 years....
A life-long music lover, Thad finally picked up the guitar in
middle-age and has become a master strummer of simple songs and a
disciple of the “three chords and the truth” school of guitar
Jonathan Wolcott is a partner at Holland & Knight LLP and serves
as pro bono counsel to Friends of ROAM. Jonathan’s legal practice
focuses on mergers and acquisitions....
Joy has lived in Del Ray since 1999. Her family discovered ROAM several years ago, when one of her
daughters joined a band and another enrolled in guitar lessons....
A great lover of music, Alex Sirpis has been involved with ROAM since its inception. Alex was raised in
Oakton, Virginia and has spent the last 25 years as an Alexandrian....

Rachael Turner is a mom of two in Arlington. A lifelong music lover, she and her husband are proud to be
raising kids who have learned to love playing guitar, piano, drums, and singing, thanks to ROAM....
Jalyn Henton and Tanisha Carino have lived in Alexandria since 2006. Their children, Jordan and Stella,
are both ROAM students with their own bands (Lemon Juice and NÜDL)....
